Why Midsummer Mayhem?

Join the IgKnighters and McQuaid Jesuit as they host their first FRC off-season event!

The IgKnighters have found that their summer work has proven to be invaluable to the overall success of their program. It is a place to teach foundational skills to our newest members and a forum to refine existing skills or try out new roles within the team for our returning members. The achievements of our next season depend heavily on the work that we engage with during the summer off-season. We want to create a space for other teams to experience the same growth and success.

Midsummer Mayhem Mission:

  • Offer an opportunity for the diverse members of our community to learn about and engage with STEM and the FIRST Robotics Program.

  • Provide an opportunity for teams to play the game in a fun, educational, less stressful environment over the summer to build skills and try new things.

  • Increase the number of matches that teams are offered compared to a regular season event to help with skill development within a competition setting.

  • Create a place where other teams can grow and learn, both within their own programs and through the connections and relationships that they build with others through the lens of competition.

  • Assist programs with recruiting new team members and mentors by hooking them over the summer with a fun and competitive environment for participants, volunteers and spectators.
